From a private US collection, this glowing late 19th century Kazak is one of the best of its type. The variegated mid blue field allows the medallions to float as if in a summers sky. The colours are second to none, including a beautiful purple, a sure sign of an older and better quality weaving. Showing some mild signs of age, and a few small old repairs, however is in excellent condition for the age.
