Early Karadja Gallery Carpet 3'8" x 12'6"/112 x 382cm
The condition of this mid 19th century runner is almost unbelievable, with no repairs, and pile verging on an inch thick. It's like it has almost never been walked on, it truly came out of a time capsule. Not to mention, it is very finely woven, has numerous subtle shades of different colours and the charmingly drawn medallions. A real joy to touch, feel and behold with great provenance; From the Roman Zalesky collection, a Polish-French-Italian collector with world famous exacting taste, I also briefly handled this marvelous rug around 2010. Very glad to have it back! Clean and ready for several lifetimes use.
Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
