18th Century Gujarati Embroidery
It is difficult to describe how astonishingly fine this piece of embroidery is. The bird in the detail is barely 3cm long from the tip of its beak to the end of its tail feathers. Absolutely breathtaking. Hard to fathom how this was made and what a fabulous shirt it must have been. It's also impressive how anything so delicate could survive at all, let alone for nearly 300 years. I'm extremely pleased to have found it and now it has been professionally and sensitively conserved, hopefully it might last another 300 years! See V & A The Collections for similar.
Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
