18th century 'Golden Triangle' Carpet 268 x 605cm / 8'10" x 19'10"
£9,600
From the estate of the late Jim Dixon, this magnificent gallery carpet once hung in pride of place at his purpose built Occidental home. Famed for his eye and always on the lookout for early carpets, Jim was renowned for his unmatched collection. A warm and generous nature, Jim was never too tired to share his passion and I spent many a happy hour at his homes, arguing over origins, colours, designs and purpose. He will be sorely missed by the rug community. Meanwhile, I have been lucky enough to purchase this beautiful, mysterious carpet with unclear origin but definite great age and beauty. So called 'Golden Triangle' as various scholars have been unable to agree on either its Turkish, Persian or Caucasian birthplace, as it has elements of all three. Jewel in the crown piece and worthy of many a collection for a snip!
Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
