Extremely elegant Khotan from East Turkestan, China circa 1800. These early Khotans are usually completely worn out but this is a rare survivor in almost good condition. There is pile everywhere and only modest old repilings. The double border of reciprocal arrowheads is beautifully effective and the small central medallion is composed of two opposing dragons, in yellow, with red eyes.
