Antique Medallion Bakshiash Heriz Carpet 258 x 358cm / 8'4" x 11'9"

Here is a great deal. A lovely late 19th century, handwoven Heriz with very decorative soft colours in good condition and at a very reasonable price. The pile is used, particularly in the red, which leads me to believe the dye was slightly corrosive. This is attractive because it tends to produce a 'layered' effect on the wear, with other colours standing proud from the red like little islands, adding to the charm. Soft yellow/camel coloured corners and the more unusual 'Bakshiash' style main border. No repairs, clean and ready for your floor.
