Bakshiash Carpet 7'6" x 9'1"/ 228 x 277cm
Bakshiash is a weaving district of Heriz, in North West Persia, and this lovely example was made around 1900, possibly late 19th century. It is very unusual for the size, squarish and 'in between', ie, its not 8 x 11 or 5 x 7 but one of the very few attractive, antique carpets that is made between those more standard sizes. The abrashed navy field supports an overall design of large, stylised blossoms in camel, coral, light green, light blue and mid green, framed by a soft peach border of rosettes and vines. In excellent condition.
Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
