Golden Yellow Kuba ca 1850 3'6" x 5'2" / 105 x 158cm
Golden yellow is one of the most difficult colours to achieve and maintain as even the best vegetable dyes will fade with light exposure over time. This lovely example has been rightly cherished throughout its roughly 170 year history. The pile is excellent allover, with mostly original side cord and some of the original macramé end finishes. There is an abrash of about 5 inches in the field that must be slightly corrosive as it slightly lower pile there. One small old repair at the top end, please see detail photo. A stunning rug in stunning condition!
Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
