Sewan Double Medallion Kazak ca 1860/70 3'7" x 9'3" / 108 x 281cm

Caucasian rugs with 'good' age become harder and harder to locate. This example, from the 3rd quarter of the 19th century, is a beauty. The blood red ground supports beautifully the two floating green medallions and the large, striking reciprocal border of blue and white arrow heads lends an extra movement to this highly collectable and decorative rug. Professionally and expertly restored, the rug is now clean and ready for another 150 years!

Occasionally I also do a home trial, numerous factors can vastly change how a piece looks and feels in a room. Get in touch for more information
