Small Blue Heriz Rug, circa 1910

The weavers of the Heriz district in North West Persia produced a great deal of these charming small rugs; this is one of the nicer ones with its squarish format, brick red borders and petrol blue field filled with floral motifs and three medallions. In low pile but still strong and floor worthy.
