Fine Antique Kazak Rug 110 x 229cm / 3'7" x 7'6"

Very fine and with fantastically soft, patinated wool, this beautiful tribal rug has buckets of charm. The field of slanting stripes is not only traditional but also timeless and with the naive drawing, full of quirks and movement. The radiant natural dyes are well balanced with greens, yellows, blues and reds. Later (but still antique) Caucasian rugs are betrayed by the red/blue appearance and lack of greens/yellows so this is a slightly older or better rug. Although in full pile, it does have a significant repair in the upper field which has very slightly faded. It is not too noticeable and I have tried to show it at all angles. This repair is reflected in the price and is still an excellent and strong floor rug, so chance for a bargain if the repairs don't bother you...
